French-Caribbean composer and multi-instrumentalist, Mino Cinelu has collaborated with numerous artists from Miles Davis to Sting. Mino comes to FIAF with singer Martha Redbone to share his passion for music and tell his own story through a unique blend of jazz, blues, Afro-pop, folk, and rock.
Honored to be performing a stripped down Roots Project show at the Walkabout founded by Pete Seeger in 1989.
From 6:45 to 7:15pm, the Walkabout Clearwater Chorus conducts an informal "teachabout"/singalong as the audience gathers, gets refreshments and their seats. The concert begins at 7:30pm and consists of two sets 50-60 minutes each with an intermission of approximately 15 minutes.

We will be doing a similar set to our one at the Smithsonian Institute: National Museum of the American Indian for the opening of the "Up Where We Belong" exhibit with some covers of legendary Native American musicians like Jimi Hendrix. Celebrating its second season, Live@365 presents Emeline Michel from Haiti, Martha Redbone from NYC, and Vlada Tomova from Bulgaria—three artists who are crossing boundaries of traditional and contemporary music. Vlada Tomova, a "vocal sorceress," creates haunting, otherworldly sounds with influences from Bulgaria and the Balkans, the Middle East, India, and Sephardic Spain, recalling Bulgaria's cultural origins shaped by ancient migrations. Internationally renowned singer, songwriter, producer, and dancer Emeline Michel, the "Joni Mitchell of Haiti," merges Haitian compas and rara with jazz, pop, bossa nova, and samba. Martha Redbone, of Shawnee, Choctaw, and African American descent, performs music that flows equally from Native American elements, soul, R&B, funk, and her deep roots in Appalachian folk and Piedmont blues.
A full day of New York based artists representing at the wonderful Ile de France Festival. The incredible Aurelio Martinez and Garifuna Soul whom I sang with in Dakar, Senegal at Youssou N'Dour's house is on the bill as well as Golem and Lucia Pulido among others.

WoodSongs is a multi-media event that tapes in Lexington, KY hosted by folksinger Michael Johnathon. The show is broadcast on almost 500 radio stations, live webcast, on-line streaming, video/audio podcast, public TV stations across the country airing in 90
million households, and now being broadcast on American Forces Radio Network.
Delighted that the Gil Scot Heron celebration that took place at Symphony Space in January is reconvening in Damrosch Park this summer as part of tthe Lincoln Center Out of Doors Festival.

We're back at our favorite hometown venue and for the very first time since the refurbishment to play the music from my new album "The Garden of Love-Songs of William Blake". With the help of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band's John McEuen we've recorded an album of Americana songs based on the magical poetry of William Blake. This is acoustic music, thus the Roots Project moniker, and I'm delighted that joining me on the 9th will be;

The first warm-up at 92Y was a great success and we're doing it again. Our first visit to the wonderful home for songwriter's the Rockwood Music Hall and it's the 100th day of the year...which must have some import! 
I'll be singing a couple of songs as a guest with John McEuen and his sons as they do a show at this intimate new venue on the West Side on the eve of the release of their amazing new album "The McEuen Sessions".
John, with his partner David Hoffner in Nashville produced my new Roots Project album and we'll be performing at least one of the Blake songs from it. It's going to be a fun night!
To mark the 75th anniversary of Zora Neale Hurston's novel Their Eyes Were Watching God, The Greene Space will transform into a literary salon reminiscent of the Harlem Renaissance of the 1920s. Hurston admirers are invited to congregate, swap remembrances of their experience with the book and hear excerpts from the novel read by award-winning writer and poet Carl Hancock Rux, as well as musical interludes with Toshi Reagon, Martha Redbone, Nona Hendryx, Marcelle Lashley and Kimberly Nichole.
This is the official warm-up, the first time we’ll have played these songs live with some friends and we’re filming! So please dress up, dress down, bring friends and family, even your neighbors and make lots of noise!
I’ll be joined by the awesome Ann Klein on guitar, mandolin and vocals, the hardest working man in show business Keith Fluitt on vocals, the excellent Chris Nolte on bass, the multi-faceted Jon Mark Fletcher on banjo and my old mate who wrote these songs with me Aaron Whitby on piano.
If we’re lucky Jonathan Spottiswoode will stop by and reprise his Victorian Londoner role from the recording before he runs to his 11pm show at the Living Room and we hope that Lonnie Harrington will be with us to recreate the Seminole chant we recorded for the song “A Dream”..
